TTT Rally, 27th, 28th August.

Sat, 27 Aug 2016 09:30 to Mon, 29 Aug 2016 03:30

Thrashers Terrifying Trek rolls around again.  To be honest, it's really not that terrifying, or even mildly scary, unless you hit an erosion hump, or enter a corner a little fast and sail off into the bush.  Even with a little wet on the roadies last year was fun.

Held on Thrashers property in the wilds nth of Wombeyan Caves approx. 200km southwest of Sydney. The roads to the rally are a combination of some great scenic and good fanging dirt roads and then about 25km of easy fire trails. Great for adventure bikes and doable on a roadie if you like the dirt.  The land the rally is on is surrounded by national park and catchment area.

Its a back to basics rally with a glass of port (or more if your game) on arrival.  Wood and water is supplied.  BYO food, booze and all your camping gear.  There's usually a final stop for supplies in Mittagong.

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

Dargo High Plains Rally

Fri, 9 Sep 2016 00:00 to Mon, 12 Sep 2016 23:30

It's been years since we've been to the Dargo High Plains Rally and the prez and her loyal subject, runs co-ordinator man, are planning on going.

The Dargo High Plains Rally is actually not on the high plains but nestled deep in a valley off the Dargo High Plains Road south of Dinner Plains, at Talbotville, an old gold mining location.  It's a lovely open grassy site with steep terrain all around.  You do have to go through the  spectacular high plains to get there which include lots of dirt and/or tar twisties.  There are lots of route options with just 10km of dirt if you want)

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

The Boree Log

Sat, 30 Jul 2016 00:00 to Sun, 31 Jul 2016 23:30

The Boree Log is our very own annual club rally.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.  It’s a camping event with food (dinner and breakfast) organised by the committee).  We have games and activities during Saturday afternoon hosted by the lovely Katya and when the sun sets the bon fire will be lit and so will begin the bon fire shuffle as pallets are thrown in.

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

Alpine rally

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 00:00 to Mon, 13 Jun 2016 23:30

The 47th Alpine Rally will be held on the June long weekend 11-13 June 2016.  This is an old club favourite and since we haven’t been for a few years, we thought we’d go this year.  It’s also the last one to be held in the Brindabellas.  There is some dirt to get to the rally site (it’s easy dirt – just as Biggles).  The plan is to spend Saturday night at the rally, then meeting up with the “Cowards of the Cold” for the Sunday night.

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

Yerranderie camping weekend

Sat, 28 May 2016 00:00 to Sun, 29 May 2016 23:30

Yerranderie is an old silver mining ghost town behind Warragamba Dam.  When the dam formed lake Burragorang the 100km from Sydney became 300km via Oberon.  After the occupants dwindled away and the town fell into disrepair it was bought and restored by LJ hookers daughter and is now managed by National Parks.  It's a great historic town in the midst of the Blue Mountains National Park.

Karuah River Rally

Sat, 13 Feb 2016 00:00 to Sun, 14 Feb 2016 23:30

The Karuah River rally is on again.  A nice flat grassy campsite by Frying Pan Creek in the upper reaches of the Karuah River.  Nestled in the forests at the back of Dungog, it has a great swimming hole to cool off if the days warm (so bring your togs).  The club likes it so much we’ve won biggest turnout a couple of times.   We’ll head up via the putty, through to East Gresford and over the lovely twisties and scenery to Dungog for lunch at the pub. Pick up any supplies you need and then another 15kay bitumen and 14kay of good dirt later will find you at the rally site.

The rally isn’t catered but there are BBQ sandwiches available in the afternoon  Bring everything else.

Dungog is close enough for a day run if you can’t make the weekend.

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

The Boree Log - 25th Anniversary - revisited

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 12:30 to Sun, 16 Aug 2015 16:30

This is it folks. The 25th anniversary of a club annual event. Actually last year was the 25th but it pissed down rain so we thought we'd give it another go. Who knows it may be the last one. If it is it will go out with a Bang!!!

Thunder Rally - Sheba Dam near Nundle

Fri, 30 Oct 2015 09:30 to Sun, 1 Nov 2015 04:30

The 34th annual Thunder Rally held by Ducati Owners Club.

A great rally held on the banks of Sheba Dam.  A  picturesque location with great roads leading in, it’s been a club favourite for years.  The rally is just up the hill (great hill it is too) from Nundle which has any supplies you might need.  You can bring your own food or partake in the BBQ put on by the local Lions Club for dinner and breakfast.  Fires are allowed, barring fire bans.  It’s quite a lot higher than Nundle so it can still get cool at night. $25 to attend.

You can get there via all tar but the club usually does some dirt to get in.  Leaving from McGraths we’ll head up the putty and do back roads to Gundy pub for lunch.  From there some may take the back way into the Rally site via the 23 creek crossings, others the easy dirt through Timor and Nundle.  Coming home can be back a similar way or head east from the rally site and down Thunderbolts through Gloucester.
