Clubman Tourers

A weekend ride to Hill End which will be suited to single cylinder bikes and skilled riders on multi cylinder adventure bikes. 

The route will be mostly made up as we go along but will likely go from Zig Zag through Blackfellas along Turon Gates if the river isn’t too high and on to Sofala. Return will be via a similar route.

Route to Bourke to be decided but will be along some roads less travelled where possible to make Bourke by nightfall on saturday night.

It's a big ride but if you feel like touching the edge of the desert it would be worth while.  

Ride Experience: For riders comfortable on dirt and accustomed to covering kms reasonably quickly.

When: meet 7pm for a 7:30 Start.

If hungry, meals on between 6 - 7 pm

The Club AGM will be held on the 22nd of September this year. This is a great opportunity for you to put something back into this great club. Don’t worry there are plenty of people to support you if it is your first time on the committee. It is a lot of fun and extremely rewarding. This ride is a weekender to Canowindra via some of the scenic roads we took last year for the 30th Anniversary. Accommodation can be at any of the 4 pubs in town, the river view motel or even a few B&B's. Singles, doubles and quad share are available. Average costs for a room is $90-$140 depending on the level of comfort you want. The B&B's tend to run higher. Give me an idea of numbers via this ride post and I will secure the best option.

Meet at 9:00 for 9:30 at Pheasants Nest. Or, 10:00 (note: changed from 10:30) at the servo at the southern end of Mittagong for people going straight there.

The 34th annual Thunder Rally held by Ducati Owners Club.  

A great rally held on the banks of Sheba Dam.  A  picturesque location with great roads leading in, it’s been a club favourite for years.  The rally is just up the hill (great hill it is too) from Nundle which has any supplies you might need.  You can bring your own food or partake in the BBQ put on by the local Lions Club for dinner and breakfast.  Fires are allowed, barring fire bans.  It’s quite a lot higher than Nundle so it can still get cool at night. $25 to attend.

You can get there via all tar but the club usually does some dirt to get in.  Leaving from McGraths we’ll head up the putty and do back roads to Gundy pub for lunch.  From there some may take the back way into the Rally site via the 23 creek crossings, others the easy dirt through Timor and Nundle.  Coming home can be back a similar way or head east from the rally site and down Thunderbolts through Gloucester.

One with Mike Trimboli from the servo at Kurmond at 8:30 am.

The other from the Caltex servo at Heathcote (left hand side heading south). 9:30 meet for a 10 am start.
