The Boree Log

Sat, 30 Jul 2016 00:00 to Sun, 31 Jul 2016 23:30

The Boree Log is our very own annual club rally.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.  It’s a camping event with food (dinner and breakfast) organised by the committee).  We have games and activities during Saturday afternoon hosted by the lovely Katya and when the sun sets the bon fire will be lit and so will begin the bon fire shuffle as pallets are thrown in.

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

Boree Log Working Bee

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 00:00 to 23:30

The Boree Log is not far away and we need your help to prepare the site and do a couple of odd jobs for Eve and Cedric  in thanks for yet another loan of their paddock.

- The bonfire is particularly big this year with large logs so it should make for a great fire.  We'll need to do the usual cleaning up around the edges and throwing them on the top.

- There's a couple of small trees we'll need to chop up and throw on.

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

Alpine rally

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 00:00 to Mon, 13 Jun 2016 23:30

The 47th Alpine Rally will be held on the June long weekend 11-13 June 2016.  This is an old club favourite and since we haven’t been for a few years, we thought we’d go this year.  It’s also the last one to be held in the Brindabellas.  There is some dirt to get to the rally site (it’s easy dirt – just as Biggles).  The plan is to spend Saturday night at the rally, then meeting up with the “Cowards of the Cold” for the Sunday night.

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

Yerranderie camping weekend

Sat, 28 May 2016 00:00 to Sun, 29 May 2016 23:30

Yerranderie is an old silver mining ghost town behind Warragamba Dam.  When the dam formed lake Burragorang the 100km from Sydney became 300km via Oberon.  After the occupants dwindled away and the town fell into disrepair it was bought and restored by LJ hookers daughter and is now managed by National Parks.  It's a great historic town in the midst of the Blue Mountains National Park.

Biggles Burrawang Brraaapppp - Sun, 3rd April

Sun, 3 Apr 2016 00:00 to 22:30

A short day ride down to Burrawang for lunch.  Burrawang is a small town near Robertson just off the Illawarra Hwy with a nice pub and a nice cafe, one of which will supply the food for some hungry clubbies on this day.  The plan is to head down via Macquarie Pass and back via some of the backroads behind Mittagong.

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

To Bell and Back

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 18:00 to Fri, 11 Mar 2016 17:30

Or maybe it should be called; Go to Bell ride or A Bell of a ride or Give em Bell, Going Bell for Leather (and Cordura)... OK, you get the gist.

So the final evening ride of the year, for those slow on the uptake, is going to Bell,  Meeting at McGraphs Hill and up the Bells line to Bell, turning around and back down to have dinner at Kurrajong Heights Pub for dinner.  Now called the Archibald Hotel it's apparantly had a reno late last year and is much improved.  (Waiting for the Clubman locals for confirmation, or alternative.)

There should be plenty of light to get back to Mt Tomah before dark so come along for the last chance before the nights get too long.

Please contact us if you are interested in this event.

A day ride around Wollemi National Park

Sun, 20 Mar 2016 08:00 to Mon, 21 Mar 2016 07:30

Heading up the Bells Line, the plan is to stop at Rylestone for a coffee, then winding through the lovely Bylong Valley full of horse studs and gorgeous sandstone cliffs stopping at Denman Pub for lunch. then the back way to Jerrys Plains and either down the Putty or through Wollombi depending on how people feel.

A decent day ride, about 530kay in all. Come along, Timmsy has ordered perfect weather.

Clubman business is our goal,
Third Tuesday, Concord Rissole,
But first there are the greetings,
At the Clubman meeting.

Come early to eat if you want,
At the rissole Restaurant,
Or come later for the seating,
Of the Clubman meeting.

President Liz will call to order,
Secretary Luke is the recorder,
Looney’s report is rather fleeting,
To start the Clubman meeting.

Mike will lead the talk on runs,
Of past rides where stories are spun,
But planning rides is the main reason,
To have the Clubman meeting

The Prez will make a banana cake,
Let’s just call it attendee bait,
Then we wind down the proceedings,
Of the Clubman meeting.

So come along and have a say,
Whether yea or neigh or to convey
your opinion, that’s what we’re needing,
At the Clubman meeting.

Tuesday Resto night. Dos Senoritas, Gladesville

Tue, 23 Feb 2016 19:00 to 21:30

Described as the only authentic mexican in Sydney.  OK, self described but it sounds like it's worth checking out and Looney gives the place some pretty good raps.  So come along and catch up with some other clubbers.

Note that it's on a Tuesday as a bunch of people are going away to the supers on the Thursday.
